Is methoxysilicone oil a good structure control agent in the masterbatch?
2025-07-21
Silicone rubber possesses exceptional properties such as high and low temperature resistance, radiation resistance, hydrophobicity, electrical insulation, and physiological inertness, making it an indispensable new material in various fields and daily life. However, to produce high-quality silicone rubber, it is crucial not only to select the right raw rubber and suitable fillers but also to utilize structural control agents as important partners.
I. Properties and Applications:
Methoxy-terminated structural control agents have a molecular weight several times that of dimethyldimethoxy silane, but their active group content is equivalent to that of hydroxyl silicone oil. They offer good safety, improve the stiffness of the rubber, and are less prone to yellowing. They do not produce water molecules during the structuralization process.
II. Main Technical Indicators:
1. Appearance: Colorless transparent liquid
2. Viscosity (25℃, mm2/s): ≤20
3. Active group content: Equivalent to 8.0% of hydroxyl content
